School Life
Minimize
A Saint Michael’s education does not end at the classroom door. Extracurricular and co-curricular offerings are designed to build confidence and stimulate interest in wholesome, life-long pursuits.

  • Field trips to points of local and regional interest begin in the Pre School and grow in range and scope as students move up in grade.
  • Athletics include inter-scholastic competition with local private and parochial schools in volleyball, soccer, basketball, track and field and golf.
  • Opportunities are offered for after school education in Arts, Music, Culture and Natural Science.
  • Learning experiences are available with Texas A& M University and Blinn College faculties.

Saint Michael’s students have the opportunity to display their academic, artistic and musical talents at regional and national competitions, including science fairs, Private School Interscholastic Association (PSIA), Brazos BEST robotics, and the Texas Association of Private and Parochial Schools (TAPPS).

Chapel, three times weekly for all K-12 students, is an integral part of the Saint Michael’s experience. Student-led, Chapel features music, contemplative communal prayer and topical messages.

Service to others is a core value at Saint Michael’s. In-reach programs foster a sense of family and care for one another. Outreach in our local community encourages a sense of responsibility for and about others, and the chance to make an impact as part of a group.

SMES has shared our students’ strong music and stage talents in a variety of ways. For 29 years, an annual musical theatre production has been performed by students in Grades 7-12. The Chapel Choir performs weekly at Chapel and regularly for churches, nursing homes, and community events.

School life at SMES is rich and varied, with something to bring out the best in every child!
