The Upper School comprises grades 7 through 12. Saint Michael's offers a traditional curriculum with courses in literature, writing, history, mathematics and science each year. British and American literature are studied, as are the classics. The study of history includes world history, American history, and local history . Mathematics study proceeds through algebra and geometry to trigonometry, pre-calculus, and calculus. Saint Michael’s science curriculum includes biology, chemistry, and physics. French classes build upon the skills acquired in the lower school. Beginning in sixth grade, study of Latin is required. Students may also choose to continue study in Spanish or French. In the Upper School years, practical experience in foreign language and culture is made available through opportunities for foreign exchange and travel to foreign countries. Art and music education continue through the high school years.
